Eric S. Rosengren

Eric Rosengren is Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Previously, he was executive vice president and head of the Bank’s department of supervision, regulation, and credit. He started with the Bank in 1985 as a member of the research department. In his research, Dr. Rosengren has made significant contributions to the fields of banking and monetary policy, and he has written extensively on macroeconomics, international banking, bank supervision, and risk management. He has authored many papers on macroeconomics, banking, and risk management, including articles in many of the top economics and finance journals. While in the bank supervision function, he obtained significant domestic and international regulatory experience related to the Basel II Capital Accord.

Dr. Rosengren holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colby College and Master of Science and Ph.D. in Economics degrees from the University of Wisconsin—Madison.
