Jennifer Mikulina is a partner and co-head of the Intellectual Property practice group at McDermott Will & Schulte, an international law firm with over 1,700 lawyers. Jennifer focuses her practice on trademark and copyright counseling, prosecution, licensing and enforcement and advises companies across a wide range of industries, including alcoholic beverage, consumer goods, food products, health and life sciences, insurance, hospitality, and software and technology. She works closely with members of the firm’s corporate advisory, health and life sciences and tax practice groups on the intellectual property aspects of transactions, including strategic alliances, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and complex intellectual property license structures for public and privately held companies. Jennifer also counsels clients on intellectual property issues related to licensing data and has significant experience working with healthcare technology companies, healthcare providers, research institutions and academic medical centers in the digital health space.

Jennifer has held numerous leadership roles, including serving as former head of McDermott’s IP transactions and licensing practice and trademark prosecution practice. She also previously led the firm’s Gender Diversity Committee and is a current member and former lead of the firm’s Chicago Pro Bono and Community Service Committee. Jennifer provides pro bono services to a variety of clients and has served on several non-profit boards, including Lawyers for the Creative Arts and Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana.  She is active (and has held leadership roles) in a number of professional organizations, including the International Trademark Association, the National Association of Women Lawyers, Chicago Women in Intellectual Property, and the University of Wisconsin Alumni Association – Chicago Chapter.

Jennifer received her B.S. (with honors) from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School.  She and her husband (also a UW-Madison graduate) live outside of Chicago and have a daughter and a son.
