Davi Doneda Mittelstadt

Hi! I am a fourth-year student from Brazil. I have bachelor’s degrees in international relations and in economics from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), and a master’s in economics from the Catholic University in Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). I also worked at the Rio Grande do Sul State Government and at a fintech (Stone) before moving with my wife to the US to start the PhD. My field is Industrial Organization, and I am broadly interested in using IO tools to study lending markets. In my main research project, I study the role of search frictions and asymmetric information in auto loans in Brazil. I also have a paper on oil and gas auctions, in which I estimate the costs of policies requiring the participation of domestic suppliers, also in Brazil. I would be happy to chat about the program, living in Madison, and about moving to the US with a partner.
