Carly Siewert

Undergraduate Program Coordinator

Q: Where did you grow up?

A: I was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Q: Where did you go to college/grad school and what was your major(s)?

A: I did my undergrad at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I got a B.S. in Community & Nonprofit Leadership from the School of Human Ecology.

Q: What do you like to do for fun?

A: One of my favorite things to do for fun is going on long bike rides. The Lake Loop around Lake Monona is great! I enjoy playing Dungeons and Dragons with my friends, and I’ve been baking my way through Claire Saffitz’s recipes.

Q: What is your favorite book or movie right now?

A: For fiction, I like “Pride” by Ibi Zoboi. It’s a retelling of Pride and Prejudice with the same levels of drama, love, and wit. My favorite non-fiction book is “Braiding Sweetgrass” by Robin Wall Kimmerer or “The Hidden Life of Trees” by Peter Wohlleben because nature is neat.

One of my favorite movies is “Moonrise Kingdom” by Wes Anderson. It’s funny, it’s weird, and it’s really cute.

Q: What’s a favorite trip or vacation you’ve been on?

A: I went on a camping trip around Lake Superior, which was a week long trip and was a lot of fun. It didn’t rain at all, which was probably the luckiest thing that ever happened to me.
