The mission of the MSQE program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is to provide students training to acquire sophisticated theoretical and quantitative skills to be competitive in the job market for Quantitative Economists.
The learning outcomes for the Master’s in Quantitative Economics program are:
- Demonstrate understanding of core principles of microeconomic theory.
- Obtain a deep understanding of methods to perform causal analysis; evaluate the appropriateness of the methods given an economic question and available data; interpret the limitations in inference when an ideal approach is not available.
- Clean and analyze economics data sets using modern statistical software and frontier econometric approaches.
- Communicate results of economic data analysis in precise yet clear manner.
