Are you a recent Wisconsin Economics alum looking to get connected with other alums and support career development of current econ students? Then consider joining the Wisconsin Economics Young Alumni Network (WEYAN). WEYAN was created to be an all-inclusive group of any econ young alum (defined as having graduated in the past 10 years). Activities include mentoring students on career development, providing advice to the Economics Career Development Office, hosting students on career networking trips, speaking to students about careers and the post-college transition and participating in biannual alumni meetings. Members can also connect with students and other alumni summer socials held in cities across the country.
WEYAN is the perfect platform to mentor a Badger, join a summer social event, share your professional experiences, host and hire UW econ students, and give back to the Economics Department!
The leadership group for WEYAN is the Wisconsin Economics Young Alumni Council (WEYAC). The Council is the first department-level young alumni advisory council at UW–Madison. Their mission is to improve the undergraduate economics experience at UW–Madison by partnering with Economics students and with the Department of Economics through various student-led, alumni-supported programming. The Economics Department is grateful for the involvement and dedication of our Council members.
